the great northwest

taking a nice break from reality, i headed out to visit emily & daniel in oregon. Jermaine & I were greeted at the airport by two familiar smiling faces. after a brief car ride to eugene, we headed out on the town. we left the next morning headed back to portland. the car packed full & our trusty navigator Scout riding in the way back. over the course of the trip he would slowly work his way to the front of the car.

we had a nice walking tour around portland, including the Ira Keller fountain, Rejuvenation & Schoolhouse’s showrooms, the Lucky Labrador Brewery, dinner & drinks at Bar Bar in the Mississippi neighborhood to round out the evening.

starting early Thursday we got some groceries, loaded up the car, stacked Scout on the bags & headed for the Wildhorse Campground. the day consisted of a wonderful site seeing deter including Mt. Hood & the Timberline Lodge. we got in just at sundown, met up with the rest of the crew & set up camp. we took most of the day Friday easy, before heading to the first show. i’ve heard it before, but cresting the hill at the Gorge is a pretty spectacular site. it really seams surreal. we snagged a spot on the lawn & enjoyed the rest of the evening. not a bad way to spend a Friday evening, or my 30th show.
